With year-round sunshine, top-notch local dining, terrific schools, excellent golf courses, and an abundance of beautiful green spaces, Chandler, AZ is considered one of the best places to live in the US. If you’re looking to stretch your legs with some hiking in Chandler, be sure to explore the wonderful walking trails in these three local parks.

Veterans Oasis Park

This stunning and very popular park in the southeast of Chandler offers 113 acres of lovely natural scenery to explore. There are extensive, well-planned, and groomed dirt trails that are ideal for both hiking and horseback riding. You can stroll or ride beside the glistening waters of a picturesque lake, stopping for a picnic at many suitable spots along the way, including several tranquil pavilions.

The very creative Solar System Walk provides a unique 2,500-foot hike path that takes you past a series of signs and monuments representing the planets of our solar system, all positioned to an accurate scale. If you want to pause in your hike, the lake is a wonderful location for fishing, with plenty of bluegill, trout, catfish, and largemouth bass to catch. You can find this great local park at 4050 East Chandler Heights Road.

Desert Breeze Park

At the opposite end of town at 660 North Desert Breeze Blvd East lies another top-notch public park: Desert Breeze Park. The rippling waters of the park’s lake are absolutely beautiful to walk beside, especially at sunrise or sunset. It’s a perfect park to hike with your children, as there’s so much to see and do here. Your kids can have fun on the equipment in a couple of well-kept playgrounds, or in a collection of spray and splash pads.

The park also boasts a lovely antique carousel and a colorful train that can take you on a tour of the park’s best sights if your legs grow tired. Drive to Desert Breeze Park in your gorgeous new 2023 Cadillac CT4 Luxury. If you’re worried about your car being warmed up by the sun when you return to it, simply use the available remote engine start feature to cool your car’s interior before you arrive.

Tumbleweed Park

This third fine local park is filled with nicely maintained walking trails punctuated with leafy trees, clean restrooms, pretty pavilions, and picnic tables. If you want to hike or jog beside wide-open lush grassy areas with occasional tumbleweeds blowing by, this is the ideal place. For your kids, the playgrounds here have shaded play areas; there’s also a large barnyard-themed playground.

One of the best features of this park is the superb sporting and exercise facilities if you want more of a workout alongside your hike. These facilities include the huge and very popular Tumbleweed Park Recreation Center. You can find the park at 2250 South McQueen Road.
