Downtown Farmers Market
Spend an hour or two this Saturday perusing a wide range of gourmet food vendors and artisans at this terrific farmer’s market. The cheerful locals running the stalls can supply you with farm-fresh vegetables, pickles, pies, jams, salsa, hummus, guacamole, honey, jerky, doggie treats, homemade soap, artisan bread, bundt cake, pretzels, arts and crafts products, and more.
The first Saturday of every month is Kids Day at the market. You can bring along your young ones to enjoy a variety of exciting life-sized games and other entertainment. The market is held from 9 am to 10 am each Saturday at 3 South Arizona Avenue.
Koli Equestrian Center
Horseback riding is a true Arizonian tradition that everyone should enjoy once in a while. Chandler is lucky enough to have a superb horseback riding center: the Koli Equestrian Center at Wild Horse Pass. Whether you’re an experienced rider or a complete beginner, you can rent a horse and have a guided riding tour through stunning Arizonian natural landscapes where you’re likely to see herds of wild horses and other wildlife.
A horseback riding lesson is a fantastic and memorable way to start your day. Alternatively, take the sunset tour to end your day watching the sun go down from horseback, like the cowboys of old. You can park your new 2023 Cadillac CT4 nearby, enjoy a fun horse ride in the open air, then return to the blissfully comfortable interior and luxurious upholstery of your CT4 for the drive home. Veterans Oasis Park
This fantastic local park has some lovely walking trails that pass by babbling streams and glistening lakes. As you stroll, you’ll catch glimpses of wildlife scurrying and flapping around among the reeds, cacti, and trees. There are many shaded areas to stop for a picnic.
The focal point of the park is an impressive, mounted wartime airplane surrounded by elegant plaques commemorating those who served in the war. Be sure to take your camera to the park, as it’s filled with picture-perfect scenery. And if you’re in the mood for a little education, there’s a terrific Nature Center as well.
