2. Cool Off at Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center

On a hot summer’s day, grab your swimsuits and head to Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center, the best spot in town to cool off with plenty of water fun for the whole family. Splash around the large family pool with a 6-foot 725-gallon tumble bucket, a water vortex, and open and enclosed tube waterslides. Float down the lazy river under the bridge and through the waterfall, and watch your little ones run through the sprayers at the splash pad.

The Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center is at 5901 South Hillcrest Drive and is open daily from mid-March to the beginning of September between noon and 7 p.m.

3. Explore the Jungle at Makutu’s Island

If the weather is not playing along, Makutu’s Island, an incredible jungle-themed indoor play zone, is just the place to go. Your kids will have a great time scrambling up the towering trees, exploring dark caves, tumbling down slippery slides, and flying through the sky with Captain Max.

The Inferno Arcade has exciting games, Oscar’s Swamp will keep the toddlers entertained for hours, and when their tummies begin to rumble, there are yummy snacks at Kiki’s Cafe.

Playtopia! in Tumbleweed Park is one of the favorite destinations for families with small children. Take your little ones to swing, climb, and slide at this colorful undercover playground spanning 2.5 acres – the largest in the region. There are different play zones themed on the town’s heritage, several benches under the pavilion, and a lovely picnic area for a bite to eat.
